Alert is seeking consultancy whose aim is to undertake a participatory stakeholder/institutional analysis, water-related conflict analysis as well as mapping of applicable legal frameworks on water management/resource management.
The assignment will involve undertaking stakeholder and institutional analysis by engaging local stakeholders and undertaking a deep analysis of the dynamics and the intermediate factors influencing water-related conflict (and human security) issues at stake in Turkana North. Furthermore, the analysis will identify stakeholders’ roles, capacities, and capacity needs to better deal with these risks. This will help in developing capacity-building interventions to address the identified capacity gaps.
The preferred consultant will have an advanced university degree in social sciences, sociology or equivalent, Strong demonstrated experience of conflict analysis with sound knowledge on water, conflict, ecosystems analysis, and peace from a conflict-sensitive perspective and understanding of the related policy context, with proven experience in participatory research design. Experience in water management issues in Kenya is an added advantage, knowledge of English is an asset.
