AECOM is seeking a highly talented Senior Graphic Designer to join our New York City, New York based Construction Management team.

Job Summary

The Senior Graphic Designer works closely with the Marketing and Communications team to create compelling proposals, presentations, infographics, and other visual communications that support the growth and achievements of our industry-leading Construction Management business. This position reports directly to the Creative Director and offers a great opportunity to work both collaboratively and autonomously with a lot of creative license while learning about a dynamic and innovative industry.

The Senior Graphic Designer has exceptional design skills, is a creative thinker and problem solver and has experience working with corporate audiences. Since projects are typically short-term, the applicant must also have excellent time management skills and be able to coordinate clearly with team members and outside vendors to meet deadlines.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design high-quality, high-concept marketing collateral across print and digital media with keen insight into our industry, services and prospective clients

  • Apply brand guidelines and graphic standards for internal and external communications

  • Collaborate with both marketing and design teams across all levels of management to develop compelling visuals

  • Prepare production-ready files for print and digital delivery (includes print pre-flight, collection of assets, image resolution, color modes, etc.)

  • Track production of project deliverables and coordinate closely with outside printers/vendors to gather cost estimates and ensure timely completion of projects

  • Communicate clearly design rationales/directions, production limits/expectations, timelines and cost estimates with all relevant parties

  • Archive and transfer files following established workflow protocols

Key qualifications:

  • Approaches design strategically, applying research and ideation to enhance marketing visuals

  • Expertise in page layout, typography, editorial grids, style sheets, and template design (Print and digital applications include: multi-page documents/booklets/proposals, interactive PDF’s, PowerPoint/Keynote presentations, brochures, posters, ads, microsite design and more).

  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop; MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Keynote (Experience with Adobe After Effects and knowledge of HTML/CSS is a plus).

  • Ability to interpret text content, stats and figures, or complex ideas and processes into infographics, illustrated visuals, or simple animations

  • Skilled in photo-retouching and color correction

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative attitude with a variety of personalities and levels of management

  • Exceptional time management of short-term, quick turn-around projects with demanding deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years experience as a Graphic Designer

  • Expertise in page layout, typography, editorial grids, style sheets, and template design (Print and digital applications include: multi-page documents/booklets/proposals, interactive PDF’s, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, posters, ads, microsite design and more).

  • Experience with Adobe After Effects and knowledge of HTML/CSS and Keynote is a plus.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BFA) Graphic Arts, or related course of study plus a minimum of (4) four years of experience as a Graphic Designer, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience designing print and digital marketing collateral for corporate audiences.

  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop; MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

  • Competitive portfolio of design work demonstrating real-world experience.
