AUAF Background

The American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) is a private, non-profit university offering an American-style liberal arts education. Position Summary

The Program Coordinator will undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks. The Program Coordinator will help in planning and organizing programs and activities as well as carry out important operational duties. The Program Coordinator is organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams.

Key outcomes include:

  • Assisting Program Manager
  • Writing projects and grants proposals
  • Writing project and grants reports
  • Tracking deliverables of the projects and grants
  • Establishing and implementing plans
  • Maintaining effective communication with other department (Academic Affairs, Student Success, Communications, Registrar, IT)
  • Assisting Communications Department in writing success stories of the projects and grants

Responsibilities:

  1. Support planning and coordination of program and its activities
  2. Ensure implementation of policies and practices
  3. Manage communications through media relations, social media etc.
  4. Help build positive relations within the team and students
  5. Provide academic advising and mentoring support to students
  6. Keep track of students’ performance and advise the project manager on areas to improve program
  7. Schedule and organize online classes, workshops, seminars and maintain agenda
  8. Assist the faculty in organizing bootcamps.
  9. Ensure technology is used correctly for all operations (video conferencing, presentations etc.)
  10. Keep updated records and create reports or proposals

Required Qualification, Experience and Skills

  1. At least three years’ experience in program management as program coordinator or relevant position
  2. BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field
  3. Knowledge of program management and development procedures
  4. Knowledge of reporting
  5. Experience working with High School Students
  6. Tech savvy, proficient in MS Office
  7. Ability to work with diversity and multi-disciplinary teams
  8. Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  9. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  10. Detail-oriented and efficient
