JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re in the people business, and we are looking to add a fun, friendly and experienced graphic designer to the crew to keep travelers, tourists, residents, target audiences and other individuals in the know on all things Wharf! The ideal candidate will have strong creative and design skills as well as a solid understanding of maintaining brand standards across a variety of content.

To succeed in this position, you should be a creative and communicative multitasker who is quick on your feet. You should be detail-oriented and look for ways to improve processes with a high level of accountability and self-motivation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Work together with the marketing team to create new ideas and support design requests such as property and special event signage.
  • Create collateral for The Wharf brand, promotional campaigns and special events including print, digital, motion graphics, social media and e-blasts.
  • Manage and update The Wharf’s Brand Guidelines and monitor brand identity across all platforms to ensure a cohesive look and voice.
  • Understand our target demographics and develop innovative strategies to reach them.
  • Creation of paid marketing assets for social and display, including imagery and motion graphics.
  • Select brand-worthy images to be displayed on The Wharf’s website and sent to media outlets.
  • Be able to conceptualize visuals based on requirements and prepare rough drafts to present ideas. Accept feedback and amend designs when necessary.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with at least five years of similar equivalent work experience. Portfolio examples required.
  • A go-getter who is eager to tackle a project but also enjoys collaborating with a team in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment.
  • Organized multitasker with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, communicate and ask questions to meet deadlines.
  • Creative individual who has the capacity to turn visualizations into on-trend designs with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience developing assets across multiple channels including digital, print, social media, and events.
  • Expert with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects) and Microsoft Office. Basic knowledge of photo editing is a plus.
  • Understanding of social media platforms and paid digital ad requirements.
  • Experience in website maintenance using a Content Management System (CMS), a plus.
  • Tech-savvy with an ability to master software easily.
  • Willing to work occasional irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Receptive to feedback and adaptability.
  • Possess the ability to keep information confidential.
  • Photography and videography experience, a plus.
  • May be expected to perform other tasks and projects as requested by your Director of Marketing.

HOURS

Monday-Friday – 8 a.m. ? 5 p.m.; Some weekends, holidays and late nights required for photography; This is a full-time position in Orange Beach, Alabama. Working remotely may be considered.
