Project Overview and Role:
The Pacific Labour Facility (PLF) facilitate seasonal and longer-term work opportunities for Pacific workers to Australia. It connects Australian employers with Pacific workers, supports the administration of the Pacific Labour Scheme (PLS) and provides targeted support to the Seasonal Worker Programme (SWP). The PLF is managed by Palladium and provides the backbone of Australia’s future support for circular labour mobility in the Pacific under the direction of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
This is not your typical Case Manager role. Our Case Managers have shared responsibility for the coordination of high-quality pastoral care support to cohorts of incoming semi-skilled workers. This includes coordinating intensive support during the initial four months of each cohort’s arrival and thereafter, monitoring, assessing and ensuring appropriate ongoing support to workers during their continued time in Australia.

Our Case Managers provide remote and/or direct support to Approved Employers (AEs), in partnership with participating countries and/or other key community stakeholders to deliver on arrival briefings and to contribute to worker’s positive transition to community. Ongoing communication and worker visits will be undertaken by the Case Manager in line with professional judgement and assessment of worker risks and needs.

Intervention provided by our Case Managers seeks to ensure the ongoing wellbeing of employees, effective resolution of presenting issues, and the maintenance and strengthening of significant worker-stakeholder relationships. More complex, serio us or widespread issues are to be escalated appropriately to ensure effective resolution.

Required Qualifications: There are a couple of must haves:
* Qualifications in a relevant discipline, e.g. Education and Training, Community Services, Human Services, and/or 5-10 years of equivalent work experience;
* Well established and strongly articulated professional practice framework which aligns with the ethos and objectives of the PLF;
* High level relationship management skills, including the ability to negotiate for outcomes that are beneficial to clients and communities;
* Excellent written and oral communications skills with demonstrated experience in using communications strategically for advocacy purposes;
* High level skills in risk and need assessment and demonstrable experience in client case management;
* Competency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel and Outlook;
* Driver’s licence and willingness to drive to regional locations;
* Flexibility to undertake frequent travel, including after hours and weekends (subject to agreement by management)

Key personal skills and attributes:
* Outstanding interpersonal skills with an ability to operate diplomatically and with cross-cultural sensitivity with government, private sector, and community stakeholders;
* Ability to establish strong working relationships with a range of government, industry, donor, and community stakeholders;
* Highly developed problem-solving skills, an ability to think innovatively and laterally and strong professional judgement.
